About Jamie

My Background & Training

I have been interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the human experience since early on.  I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Pace University as well as an additional Bachelor's Degree from New York University which allowed me to practice as a Registered Nurse in 2013.

After practicing as an RN for several years in both Oncology and Psychiatric settings, I completed Graduate level training at New York University which granted me the title of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2019.

Experience

Since completing my degree, I have gained invaluable experience working at a Psychiatric Emergency Room in New York City, a Community Health Clinic serving vulnerable populations, and as an adjunct professor in the Graduate Department of New York University's College of Nursing.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are a nurses who have gone on to complete Master's level graduate training programs.   Typically, NPs have worked as nurses in various settings before completing graduate school, so they are in a unique position to bring the skills and experience of their nursing career to their advanced role.   Unlike nurses trained at the undergraduate or certificate level, NPs can diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases across the lifespan, including by prescribing medication.
